Ok. I must say that I have never been a rabid fan of Star Trek but I've seen all the movies...First Contact...yada yada. But the new movie was AWESOME. It had everything I was hoping for: humor, romance, action, monsters, and killer special effects. I won't say that it was acceptable as a part of the Star Trek universe, but as a stand alone movie it was aces in my opinion. I didn't do my homework on the ST material before going to see it but I really didn't have to in the end. All of the character introductions were excellent and not to flashy.
And I have to confess, I was slashing Kurk and Spock before I got home from the theater! They made so much eye contact and WHOA really close, face to face dialog I as drooling half the time. ^_^

My sister was drooling over Spock as well, but I didn't she could handle Spock/Kurk just yet. Damn that's hot.

Come on peeps...don't leave me hangin'. Tell me what you think!

LOL. We came home and googled him - I had no clue he'd been in so many shows! Thankfully I had nver seen him before and I was un-bias about his role in the movie. He did an excellent job as far as acting goes.

I highly recommend the movie (and i think any aversion to Spock will be short-lived ^^).
